Idea No 18 - Video Blogging (Youtube) !!

Well, considering most of us in today's world use the online video sites as regularly as checking our mail boxes makes it unnecessary for me to explain the potential of the medium. Though the Adsense feature has been launched recently to finally connect what seemed to be a never ending wait to see revenue generation for users from Google.

Another thing I wanted to mention was that we don't need to be professional to actually produce high quality videos and see it work. Remember its the idea conveyed over the video and not really the quality of it that's important. Other thing that I have noticed (and sure most of you would have too) is that video search are basically about the latest world events and are best way to get featured. For example after the latest shoe throw incidence on Mr. President Bush, sure you can't go and capture the moment again but then add humor and redirect it from your point of view...... bush, shoes are something all around you, don't you think so :)

Like always, it’s a big party out there and you don't want to be missed out. So go and kick your creative self out!!

Idea No - 17 Freelance Creative Head and Sales Professional

Well, Lots of us are busy doing what we aren't supposed to do. Though the creative edge and innovative instincts refuse to budge most of us either resides to writing the notes in our blogs or pass them for free to more appropriately positioned men to make money.

I have been trying to work out a formula which suits the best for people who are creative, innovative and have extensive knowledge of diverse subjects. People who might not be on top of the pyramids, but see the change much in advance to restructure the way things function in today’s world.

Firstly, to be creative and innovative, you need not be the head of research facility. "Necessity is the mother of all innovations" and I think this fact goes widely unacknowledged. Most of the products in the market are neither creative nor innovative. And because in today’s corporate society, creators and innovators seldom meet in a common room, most of the products are forced. Also, over the period of time customer becomes the mentor for next generation product life cycle is another fact that’s highly neglected.

Idea is to fill this gap by organizing these random individual think heads into a group of loosely coupled workforce working as freelance under one common umbrella. Organization is only for the association to form a common pool for the corporate world to access the pool on need bases and is indeed more of a community. This will allow various individuals to be bound together with common corporate work ethics and platform for exchanging Ideas on a wider level. Working as Free lance would give individuals an opportunity to break free from the confinement to any single specific field and also flexibility to work on individual’s creative sense. Also, every chance of stumbling upon an innovative idea can be used in wider sense.

I'm still trying to understand the legal obligations for this to work but this looks like a very edgy option to reorganize and flash an option for many to get paid offline. Also, an online community forum of this kind looks like a very lucrative option for next generation workplace.

Idea No. 16 - The White Tiger

Lot of us might now jump onto the Arvind adiga's Booker wining debut novel - "The White Tiger" for reading. Its natural to show curiosity when someone unknown suddenly is shot to fame and everyone wants to know..... what's it all about ???

Having gone through the book, I think book has everything from suspense, murder, agony, jealousy to dreams of a common man. Does that ring a bell ??? yes, a perfect bollywood flick. Well, Arvind adiga may say hundred different things and might have done a detailed study of the poorest in the society but then come on don't tell me you thought everything by yourself :). I know your inspiration dude - our own Bollywood masala.

Now that Arivind have done most of the scripting already, why go through the pain again. Idea is this, just pick the book, take a decent star cast, put some songs and bridge all the ends together. Make a movie that's sure gonna make some people move, at least those who haven't read it for sure. If a movie like "Hello" can do decent business, I think we have nothing to worry about !!

Now all those first time directors, producers and actors..... this is your chance to get hooked to the Arvind's journey to moon and back.

Idea No. 14 - Just Listen

Proposal is for a new feature in current GSM/CDMA network and can be realized in any Telephonic installation. SMS are one of the best features where a user need not have a conversation to convey his message. Also SMS are best way to convey a message without actually creating a distraction. Everything said and done, but still SMS need typing of message and sometime a message more than a few words wouldn't be very convincing for either end.

Proposal is to redefine the Answering machine funda and shape it up to fit current requirement. In case, You want to leave a message to someone directly and avoid a conversation...... choice is very limited and no matter the medium still can't really convey the tone of the message. Idea exploits this choice and proposes a new system which can be used in cases like above.

Problem statement -

A want to call up B but want to really avoid a conversation, A just have a message to convey and wants to limit the conversation just to that. A also wants to be identified as sender for the message but doesn't want to sound foolish or explicitly mention his identity.

Working Design of Just Listen App -

1. A calls up B, but instead of just dialing B-phone-number appends the voice mailbox access number to the phone number to reach the mailbox directly (for Example - B-phone-number-mailbox-number ).

2. JL Application after A has recorded his message in the voice mailbox, picks up the Identity of A and sends a message to B with sender as A and informs about the waiting message and duration within which it needs to be retrieved.

3. B receives the message from A and finds out about the voice message, Dials voice mailbox and retrieves the message.

Idea is creative and different from the existing functionality of the Voice Mail as choice is with the caller and not the receiver to choose the mode of communication.

Idea No. 13 - Adult Movie

Some people reading this might state me as pervert but I'm only an enteprenure and my intentions is only to find ways to make money, so excuse me !!

I have been thinking for very longtime about reorganizing this thought and I think lots of people already understand that this is a proven way of making money in Film industry. If SEX and SRK sell, then let’s sell SEX. It’s cheaper and abundantly available.

Please don't mistake me with advising you to become a pilot of porn industry in India, I myself consider pornography as an insult to female gender. Idea is to celebrate female sensuality and 'SEX' as whole.

Working Know-How -

Most of the Adult movies in India are either pornographic in nature with ugliest star cast OR will leave you clueless and cheated with its covers. Idea is to take a middle path, Make an adult movie, with good looking star cast, decent budget (3-5 lakhs) some basic story line (pick some short story from net, we’ll find thousands) and most important use good lights, back ground music & decent location.

Now, finding people to be ready to act shouldn’t be much of trouble as you get tickets to Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore in less than 20 k. Look for people who feel great about own-self and would consider acting in a adult movie as an act and not as prostitution. Another thing that has to be kept in mind is that direction of an Adult movie in no sense mean you would have to actually meet any standard of porn movie, instead it should be class apart and should just show the act.

Use India’s oldest science ‘KS’ and in no way try to portray that the act has been committed either in state of fear or need, that will make the act look forced or unwilling. Attach ‘LOVE’ to ‘LUST’ to derive the most of it.

Release the movies in small theatres and in small towns, it will make good business and best part is they will never get old. So with least number of copies, you can still make a huge circulation with time. One example which I think falls in this category of movies is ‘JISM’ – the success of the movie was only on the bases of its bold nature to body showcasing.

Idea No 12 - Boxing club

Here is the second Idea in a week, doesn't happen very often..... in fact I have third and fourth lined up but will keep that for later.

To capitalize and rejuvenate the recent Olympic stint of Indian Boxers, here is my thought how this acknowledgement of presence of Indian talents in sports other than cricket can be utilized for monetary gains.

Though the title suggest a boxing club, my intentions are for no charity to the game or raise local talent for next Olympics. Idea is to commercialize Boxing in India, organize ring fights for smaller and richer section of the society. This is how its gonna work -

1. Try finding a boxing star, not necessarily the one who has one a medal but more who has professional boxing experience. An instructor or acknowledged fighter in low lying boxing circles.

2. Make this guy pilot your organization process - his job would be to find boxers (local or abroad talents), stadium or gyms , rules and regulations and a show that can run for an hour or two at the maximum.

3. There will be just one fight per night and access to see this fight would be limited, limited to an extent of page 3 crowds, bureaucrats and rich brats.

4. No betting, just plane fights where people will come in expensive cars and watch two boxers display their talent.

5. Tickets or admission control be circulated with safe channels.

6. If this works, then next step would be to make the Friday night crowd either watch the fight at home on television sets or walk into big stadiums.

As always, Idea is good and would need some venture capitalist to invest in it.

Idea No - 11 - Wear your attitude !!

Most of us if given a chance to design our cloths would do a terrible job, no doubt but then it can also be fun to get your hands dirty once in a while. Idea picks up the not all-time creative instincts of common man to decide what he wants to wear on a particular day or occasion. Idea is to provide people to design a T-Shirt and get it ordered to door steps.

Lets see how it will work -

1. An online site will let you select a set of already displayed T-Shirts for ordering or will give you a choice to design one of your own.

2. Once user has chosen what your T-Shirt will look like,he just need to submit his personal address, credit card details and number of pieces he needs.

Simple, User gets his T-Shirt and we get the money.

Implementation Issues -

1. Site needs to be authenticated by some security firm.
2. T-Shirt production needs to be outsourced.
3. Review of the material and costing for the project.

If not the Best, Its one of the Idea I would like to push through !!

Idea No - 10 - Voice over IP

http://www.ciol.com/News/News-Reports/TRAI-allows-Internet-telephony/18808109170/0/ -
When this happens, immediate result of it would be that call rates would drastically decrease. Telecom operates may not be very happy with this new outcome of TRAI's change in the basic mindset. Now, here is an attempt to answer how next generation telecom world is going to look and how operators have to adopt to change to survive the next big change since early telecom boom.

Make no mistake VoIP is no joke, if TRAI gets it through and is regularized it will turn the billing system of operators up side down. No operator would ever again be able to justify call rates and service rates. Call rates that might drop to a level of few paisa per minute will suddenly make the balance sheets of operates plunge to a new low.

Let’s look at the user side of it. Conservative users like me who believe cell phone still only a gadget to communicate on need basis will laugh out loud on our way back home. Most of the services provided in today's market in India need a high end phone handset and if there's no operator and handset provider tie up, possibility is that most of the services will still remain untouched by end customer resulting into no service charges. If operates are dreaming to stay on and make millions out of a 100 million customer base, get real. If operators don't step up they would be heading to become more or less charitable non-profit organizations.

So here is the survival guide for operators -

1. Concentrate on innovating towards more services to end customers then just living with expanding customer base. 5 years back I would have advocated the Idea of increasing customer base, but today's mantra has changed and so should the mindset.

2. Bundle Services: Tomorrow, when VoIP is a reality. Don't change the current billing arrangements especially for prepaid subscribers. Instead at the same cost price, offer them a bundle of services with obvious intended voice services. For example, On a recharge of Rs 100, convert the talk time quantity from money to time. Add a small MMS service charge, pass him Music on demand, News Service, Flash Picture SMS etc.

3. Graduating user to new level wouldn't help till operator makes a conscious effort to educate him for service usage. Operators should start channeling resources towards the education part.

4. Operator- Handset provider Partnership its time this partnership should be materialized and stressed more. Operator on bases of services provided should appropriately line up handset providers and have common selling points. Like elsewhere, this should be more encouraged for postpaid subscribers and operators should press for more ECS mode of payments for billing.

5. Distinction should be made for prepaid and postpaid subscriber. Prepaid subscriber should be more call based low-end customer with limited services. Postpaid customer on bases of plan subscribed should be graded and supplied with premium services.

6. Emergency Services - Sad part but yes, though still not stressed or regularized by TRAI can actually become a selling point in current scenarios.

7. In all the fray to gain an edge over others, don't forget QoS and Security.

Now it’s a wait and watch game!!

Idea No 9 - Next Generation Television !!

Its been long since i wrote up with anything new......not that i stopped thinking, its just that i have been enjoying which has already been invented. I think that's a very important phase because until you don't try to understand the current available product you can't think of innovating it to the next level. And unlike Apple, i am not with the idea of producing something which will not reflect a common man's present day.

Television has integrated in current life style as the most basic need for every being on this planet earth and most annoying thing about this gadget is that it sometime challenges your own memory. For example, if i walk in home and i want to watch cricket, i take the remote and press channel 44 (Start sports in my TV configuration). Thats just not end of it, times children at home fiddle around by pressing auto configure on remote and then starts a painful saturday of configuring everything back to way it was from 1-44..... Catch here is, picture quality for many people is still isn't as important as watching their favorite sport (stands true atleast for Indians where a plasma screen cost 60k or more).

Solution to this problem goes something like this..... TV companies need to fit a voice censor in the remote, censor should be able to detect the channel requested from the human voice and map the words to the channels in the TV. This would first require voice recognition software to convert voice signal into text which needs to be mapped. Second, once the text has been generated, it needs to be mapped to closest channel with same spelling. For the second part, we would need to run through the internal memory directory of the TV which stores the channel and remembers the sequence....

What say ??? I think i should patent this idea before people steal it like they did with the rest :)
