Idea No 23 - Animating the faking news

While everything in this world is spreading at the speed of light, overnight stardom is no more a fantasy or a fairytale. Thanks to social networking, I can blog the duration of my last visit to the men's room and there are people out there who might "like" that too.

Anyways, I'm not away from the party myself. And the Idea is outcome of one of those misadventures.

I have subscribed to one of the sites that provides daily entertainment by faking news literally. They spend sometime reading something ongoing and then fake the news by writing something funny in similar lines (Check this out - http://www.fakingnews.com). I love it and the humor is very sarcastic. The name of the site adds up more spice to it.

The Idea is to be more creative in terms of delivery of the news itself. The news needs to of course be readout loud as not everyone believes in reading. But more importantly, its like one of those stand up comedian shows that have a crowd to support them. We can use any standard animation softwares to read up the news. To add more to it, after every sentence of some paragraph, have some cheers, laughs or some comments to top it up. Software like - http://website-talk.a4desk.com/ can be use for the same. Also, we would need some video mixing to make it more appealing.

Most of it is basic use of ready made software, so shouldn't be difficult.

Idea no 22 - Ipad powered restaurents

Sri's Idea
-------------------------------------------------------------
It just happened to me today while i was on lunch.

I went to the restaurant and as usual the waiter gave me the menu. I ordered a grilled chicken breast. Th waiter then told me that i get 2 sides along with the main dish and i can order anything. I saw on it and i ordered a cheese fries and french fries. When i told my order for sides the waiter was little surprised and so my lunch colleague.

When my order came i was surprised and found that cheese fries and french fries are same except that they pour cheese on fries. :-) . Now i knew why the waiter had that look.

Because of my no so good knowledge about food i happened to order the same 2 sides. Now what if there was some information on the menu which described what exactly an item is and how it tastes?? Do you think i have ordered cheese fries and french fries together.?? Hell No!.

Now Imagination part :

I arrive in restaurant, the waiter gives me an Ipad instead of the printed paper menu(or for that matter any touch tablet PC running android/windows). The Ipad has the restaurant menu, i just tap it and see what all is available and what exactly each item is, how long will it take to prepare etc and then I then order it.

The order automatically gets updated in the kitchen system against my table and is delivered after preparation.

Now what i do until my order comes to me, Since i have WIFI enabled tablet in my hand, i can browse some latest video, catch-up with friends, update my facebook, tweet and do whatever i want online.

The order comes and i have my lunch , pay @ counter or online and then leave.

What kind of experience do you think this will be to the user? Don't you think he will tell this experience to other users.

With this being a totally new concept and altogether new in India, wont you think people will flock to take a look at it?? I'm excited about this idea.

However i just googled and found that this is a second hand idea.

A restaurnat in Sydney and some hotels in the US have already replaced regular paper menus with Ipad.

Nevertheless, this will be a new idea altogether in India.
